In this episode, Miami Dolphin Cory Procter gets his first publishing deal, an evil desire to displace a crying wedding singer from the top slot takes shape, and Chickenfoot bassist Michael Anthony and I are soulmates, who agree on everything.

This week they styled the bands and they looked pretty much the same except for Ben the realtor, who was markedly improved.

Kip Winger's group then went on to songwriting and the other two bands worked on their covers in preparation for next week's show. Van Halen founding member Michael Anthony assessed and jammed with them, and later brought in other heavy-hitter musicians and producers like Mr. Big's Billy Sheehan and drummer Kenny Aronoff, to watch them play again.

 "There's no fixing that" said an industry insider watching Janelle belt Cheap Trick. And perfect antihero Josh is the understudy for lead if she blows it with her wedding-singerish fears. Quite frankly I'm rooting for him to take it since she is wearing a lanyard for no reason, and his deep thoughts throughout are priceless.
Also, their mentor Mark Hudson (yes uncle of Kate), makes me want to man up.

FIRECRACKER INSTITUTE

 You don't write songs?! I'll write a song right now about how cute Kip Winger looked in that black jacket. But although he practically had to strong-arm his still whining charges to perform their original piece in front of people including recording artist Gary Hoey - who said he might use the song on his next album - they did pull it together with strong Cory calmly getting it done.
