D.A.R.E. Turns Another Little Kid Into a Snitch
A D.A.R.E. anti-drug lesson about the "dangers" of marijuana made such an impression on a fifth grader that he brought his parents' joints to school and reported them. He's now been removed from his house by social services.
So, good job all around on this one, but in particular to the North Carolina D.A.R.E. officer who called parents smoking pot a "dangerous situation" and apparently told the WBTV reporter in the video above that this sad, horrible incident is a "success" for the D.A.R.E. program. Good job also to the parents, who seem to be completely unable to properly hide their weed from their kid, and great job to the 11-year-old who was so swayed by the coloring book he decided to sell his own parents down the river. What, did this school not have enough STOP SNITCHING t-shirts, or something?
The 40-year-old father and 38-year-old mother have both been arrested. The kid and a sibling are now staying with relatives, just in case their parents get stoned and, I don't know, force them to listen to Tangerine Dream with them or something.
