Grey's Anatomy: Not Live, But Still Awesome Thanks to Frances Conroy and Jesse Williams' Abs
Despite what Alessandra Stanley might think, special guest stars are definitely one of the highlights of a lot of great primetime TV. That being said, tonight's Grey's featured powerhouse performances by Frances Conroy and Jesse WillIams', um, "Situation."
But before we get into that, I should mention what else happened tonight at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital. Alex, Callie and Arizona helped a 15 year old ballet dancer with cancer save his leg, Bailey and Cristina saved a guy with worms in his belly, and Cristina bought a firehouse a la Ghostbusters for her husband.
More importantly, Frances Conroy—of Six Feet Under fame guest starred as a woman who accidentally (?) ran her car into a laundromat injuring many unsuspecting people folding their delicates. For most of the episode, Lexie and April tried to find a medical reason for why a sweet old lady might run her car into a Suds 'n Dry. Dementia? Seizure? What they failed to realize was that there is no way to see "blinding hatred for your ex-husband" on a CT scan.

And that is how you win a guest actor Emmy.
Now, if you don't care about winning a guest actor Emmy but still want to make it into the hearts and minds of women and gay men all across America you could do what Jesse Williams did tonight and just take off your shirt. To be honest, there was some whole story line about how his being cute was interfering with his doctoring skills or some such thing. But, honestly, who cares?! Have you seen those abs? And those piercing blue eyes? I mean, really. Mike Sorrentino who?

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to have some alone time with my DVR box.
