Rev. Sun Myung Moon Buying Back the Washington Times
The Washington Times, which laid off a huge portion of its staff and fired its meddling publisher earlier this year, has now reached a deal to be sold—back to Rev. Sun Myung Moon! Hello again!
The batty old mass-marrying Rev. founded the paper in 1982, then passed it on to his son, Preston Moon. But the WaPo says that Preston was considering shutting down the paper altogether, so his dad is sweeping in to save it.
"Times sources said Moon, who is 90, has tapped Dong Moon Joo, the former Times chairman who was ousted last year by Preston Moon, to purchase and run the paper." So the old man is buying back his own paper from his son and installing a guy that his son hates, to run it. Looking forward to Thanksgiving this year! Sounds fun!
