True Blood: Sookie Makes Better Life Choices, Briefly
After last week's action-packed gore-fest, this week's episode was far tamer. The focus shifted from violence to character development. The slower pace that occurred this week allowed us to reconnect with the show's characters.
Some people complain that there are too many character on the show, but I felt this week covered everyone's storylines nicely. Plus there was some bloody violence and sex, so a leisurely pace didn't harm the True Blood we've come to know and love.
The episode started off on such a good note. Bill and Sookie decided it was best if they ended things. Sookie finally realized that Bill and his vampire friends have turned her life into Hell. It only took her 3 seasons to realize this, but better late than never.

Of course, Sookie had second thoughts about whether the split was a good choice. Then Tara comes along and says what a fair number of us have said from the start.

After weeks of hitting on the Mississippi King and his male lover, Eric finally proves he's not a cocktease. Good to know Eric's an equal opportunity fucker.

While Eric goes gay, Bill briefly reveals his 1990's valley girl phase. Not really, but this has to be one of my all time favorite True Blood moments.

I interrupt this video review for a breaking screencap. Behold the official "Bill & Sookie" scrapbook, made by the telepath herself.

I've said a lot of bad things about the oft-boring Sookie, but she was awesome in this epic girl on girl catfight. Gotta love a wonderfully choreographed fight sequence.

Did you enjoy Sookie's little break from Bill? Too bad if you did, because they're back together! Nothing shows recommitment to a relationship like dirty sex on the floor after a battle.

Oh True Blood, don't you ever change.
