Sharron Angle, the far-right Senate candidate from Nevada whose ineptitude may keep Harry Reid in office, gave a hilarious interview to Fox News over the weekend explaining her selective media strategy: "We needed to have the press be our friend."

After Angle won her Senate primary in June on the backs of exuberant Tea Party supporters, it became clear that she needed a wee bit more media training, to at least weed out her tendency for supporting armed insurrection against the United States government. She didn't talk to reporters for at least three weeks.

But now she'll talk to anyone, like... Fox News! Here's how she explained her strategy to a stunned Carl Cameron:

Angle: "We needed to have the press be our friend."

Cameron: "Wait a minute. Hold on a second. To be your friend…?"

Angle: "Well, truly–"

Cameron: "That sounds naive."

Angle: "Well, no. We wanted them to ask the questions we want to answer so that they report the news the way we want it to be reported."

Cameron: [speechless, laughs]

She added that she'll only do interviews at places where people allow her to plug her website for donations, on air. Then she plugged her website for donations, on air.

Sharron Angle is special.
