Naomi Campbell To Testify In Blood Diamond War Crimes Trial
Angry model Naomi Campbell's reps have confirmed that she will provide evidence at the war crimes trial of former Liberian president Charles Taylor in The Hague on July 29. She allegedly received blood diamonds from Taylor in 1997.
Charles Taylor — pal and former business partner of Pat Robertson, and brutal dictator in his own right — is accused of using the sale of diamonds to fuel civil war in neighboring Sierra Leone in the late 90's-early 2000's, as well as a civil war in Liberia. He allegedly gave Campbell diamonds in 1997, and she has been asked by the prosecution in the case to testify, which she will do. Campbell told Oprah: "I don't want to be involved in this man's case. He has done some terrible things, and I don't want to put my family in danger."
