It Pays to be a Hottie in Politics, Says Science
Ladies and dudes alike are going crazy over sexy not-gay politician Aaron Schock. And we've covered the Republican congressman extensively due to his hotness, thus supporting science's new theory that hottie politicians get more media coverage.
A new study in the International Journal of Press/Politics has found that better-looking politicians attract more media coverage. Researchers from the University of Haifa had people rate a number of Israeli politicians according to their do-ability. After controlling for a number of variables
it was found that the more attractive politicians are covered in the television news more than the less attractive politicians, physical appearance having more influence on the amount of coverage for women than men.
God, it must be so hard to be a politician these days: Not only do you have to be well-versed in the issues, but you also need a tight ass and a six-pack. It's only a matter of time before presidential elections include a swimsuit portion and a The Biggest Loser-style weigh-in.
