Politico Writes Year's Best Journalism Thing
How has The Politico, the most closely-followed internet tip sheet in our nation's halls of power, won the morning and the afternoon as well, today? They have done so with this work of journo-art, "Ben Marter's home-cooked weekend."
Who is Ben Marter? He is the communication director for Rep. Betsy Markey. As last week came to a close, Ben Marter, reportedly, was "craving some home-cooking." How did Ben Marter spend his weekend, and what foods did he consume during that time, accompanied by what activities? That is where The Politico comes in.
We asked Marter—who enjoys playing the role of the sometimes-chef—what showed up on his dietary dossier this weekend.
WELL, WHAT DID HE SAY?
On Friday night, at home with his girlfriend, Marter cooked up a spicy chicken stir-fry with broccoli, cabbage, mushrooms, green beans, peanuts and onions, and seasoned with with ginger and lemongrass.
"I recommend it," he said.
And then?
Saturday morning, he took some of the leftover broccoli, onions and mushrooms, added jalapenos, and made omlettes for a zingy breakfast.
Would you believe, dear reader, that this work of winnage goes on to describe Marter's soccer game-watching, FroYo consumption, tubing adventuring, and favorite Boboli pizza toppings? It does, friends. It fucking does.
