Comment of the Day: Planned Parenthood
Today we looked at how lesbian moms raise perfect children. Is it simply because they're lesbians? Well, no, probably not. One commenter offered a simple and completely convincing argument for why this phenomenon might exist.
I wonder if this adjusts for socio-economic status and education.
Regardless, this doesn't surprise me a bit, nor would it surprise me if the same were true for the children of gay men, for the simple reason that you have to make a very deliberate choice to get pregnant if you're not a traditional male-female couple. Considering how many pregnancies are unintended (I think about half), wouldn't it make sense that those who have the inclination and resources to go through artificial insemination or adoption—or whatever other hoops they have to jump through to get a baby—would, on average, be better equipped to raise a baby. I mean, it's not like there are a lot of 16-year-old impoverished lesbian moms, I wouldn't think.
So wait, people who work very hard to have children because they really want to have children turn out to be better parents than folks who got knocked up by accident? That doesn't sound very Christian!
