Laura Ling's Stank Prison Nightmare

On Oprah today, former captive journalist Laura Ling said that she confessed to North Korean interrogators that "she was trying to overthrow the government" in a desperate bid for leniency. But that's not the worst part: she was also stank.
''I developed a system to wash where they would allow me to heat a kettle of water,'' she said. ''I would mix it with some cold water and then I would scrub down and just splash it on me.''
140 days of splash-washing. North Korea is more brutal than we ever imagined.
