The best thing about people who hate gay people is that they secretly all love gay people. Or at least having sex with gay people. Look at the recent case of Family Research Council co-founder George Rekers. There's a rentboy!

Rekers has been speaking out against all things gay for many years now, so vehemently that one is led to assume that he's overcompensating for something. And indeed that looks to be the case. Rekers traveled to Europe on a vacation recently and hired an escort through Rentboy.com to "carry his luggage." He claims he recently had surgery and thus couldn't do the lifting himself. Why he found a porter through a gay prostitution website — the only place where Lucien, as the rentboy is called by the Miami New Times (who broke the story), offers his services — remains unexplained.

Not that we can blame Rekers, really. Listen to the a description of the lad, from the New Times:

The pictures on the Rentboy.com profile show a shirtless young man with delicate features, guileless eyes, and sun-kissed, hairless skin. The profile touts his "smooth, sweet, tight ass" and "perfectly built 8 inch cock (uncut)" and explains he is "sensual," "wild," and "up for anything" - as long you ask first.

Gurgle. Rekers claims that he only found out the fellow was a hooker halfway through the trip. That must have been a fun discovery, Georgie! Though how he couldn't have known, given how explicit Rentboy.com is, is a little confusing.

Now perhaps Rekers was just trying to help the boy, with whom he was photographed at the airport. Rekers is an outspoken proponent of the idea that you can cure the gay away. Maybe it was a curative trip with some light luggage lifting? Rekers wrote in several emails to the rentboy (also via the New Times):

"I'd like to propose another trip to Rome, Italy, for a week or more," Rekers wrote in an email dated March 21 obtained by New Times. "This is so exciting to have a nice Travel Assistant and traveling companion! Wow! I'm so glad I met you."

"I called and talked to the reservation guy in London and reserved a room with two twin beds," Rekers wrote on March 26.

"Now that I'm packed, tomorrow I'll work on completing my income tax return," Rekers wrote two days later. "Not fun... But I'll just remind myself that the fun trip is coming soon."

Ohh, cute. A fun trip. That Rome trip would have been a second getaway, that Rekers was already planning before they'd left for the first. Though both guys claim no sex was had, we bet that just depends on your definition of "sex."

The hooker has no ill will toward his client, even defending him, saying "You don't understand how much this guy honestly cares about taking care of kids." But he also says Rekers "likes younger guys to hang out with." So, um, which is it? He likes taking care of kids or "hanging out" with them?

We'd laugh at all this if it wasn't so hateful and pathetic and sad.

Update: A gay website called Unzipped.net has found [NSFW] "Lucien" the Rentboy's Rentboy.com profile. [NSFW] He looks like a medieval French knight. A twinky medieval French knight who goes on vacations with Christian pastor homophobes.
