The muckracking conservative columnist at the New York Post was born to immigrant parents, grew up in Queens and graduated from SUNY New Paltz and Albany. She landed her first journo job for the AP in Albany right after college, and in 1989 joined the Post.

These days Peyser can be counted on to outrage a sizeable percentage of the city's population on a weekly basis. She often covers recent scandals and social events with a rancor and right-wing-ness usually reserved for Fox News. New York Mag called her the "Madame Defarge" of the Post, and the Wasington Post said that her columns are counted as "unforgiving, exuberantly spiteful...as a guilty pleasure."

Despite this, she has won several journalism awards (no Pulitzer yet), and written two books, one of which is about, you guessed it, stupid liberal people!: "Celebutards: The Hollywood Hacks, Limousine Liberals and Pandering Politicians Who Are Destroying America(Kensington 2009.)"

She currently lives in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn with her husband and daughter, and has reportedly, "made peace" with Queens, a place where she hated growing up.
