Julie Atlas Muz
A self-described "true Gemini," Muz was born in Detroit, MI as Julia Ann Muz. She attended Oberlin for college where she majored in dance and history. She then grew up to become a burlesque dancer. That's what a liberal arts education gets you these days.
Her career took off in the 2000s when she performed some spectacular stunts, such as swimming as a mermaid alongside live fish in a 9,000 gallon saltwater aquarium. She's since been featured on shows like Law and Order and Gossip Girl, and films like the Cannes-award winning Tournee. Other projects have included a production of Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring," inspired by the life and death of JonBenét Ramsey, and the art installation "Womanizer," which featured her talking genitalia with various props.
