Thousands of white people descended upon Washington, DC today to protest Kenyan socialism, or something, and where was President Obama? Oh, you know, in Florida, just cold chillin' with Gloria Estefan and talking shit about the Tea Party.

Obama hit up the Sunshine State on tax day to tell the world about his new plans for NASA, stopping by a couple fundraisers because when you're a Democrat in a state full of rich Jewish seniors, it's like, how can you not?

First, he made fun of the protestors:

President Barack Obama said Thursday he's amused by the anti-tax tea party protests that have been taking place around Tax Day.

Obama told a fundraiser in Miami that he's cut taxes, contrary to the claims of protesters.

"You would think they'd be saying thank you," he said.

At that, many in the crowd at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts stood and yelled, "Thank you!"

So what if he used the same joke during the State of the Union it? Dude was killing it. Next stop: Gloria Estefan's house:

Obama was with Gloria Estefan as part of a quaint, $30,000 per ticket pair meet and greet on Miami Beach. Twitter pics are already coming in from the benefit and show Obama and Estefan cozy like college buddies....

Before Obama left the Estefan compound, he reportedly spent 15 minutes with with Emilio Estefan on all things Cuba. Gloria showed the president graphic pictures of the Ladies in White, an activist group in Havana, being dragged through the streets of Cuba during a peaceful protest.

Unsurprisingly, some members of the Cuban-American community are upset with the Estefans for supporting a known socialist, but the two are old friends. Miami Sound Machine, Chicago Democratic machine, what's the difference?
