Jocelyne Wildenstein
A plastic surgery cautionary tale, Jocelyne Wildenstein (nicknamed The Bride of Wildenstein) is the feline-faced ex-wife of the late art collector/dealer Alec Wildenstein.
Jocelyne grew up in a middle class family in Switzerland. She was introduced to her future husband, Alec, by Saudi arms dealer, Adnan Khashoggi, on a weekend at the Wildenstein family's African ranch, "Ol Jogi." Alec and Jocelyne were married in 1978, but marital bliss was fleeting: Alec had his eye on other women and Jocelyne, grossly insecure about her looks, feared that he would cheat. In order to transform her looks and attract her husband once again, she sought extensive plastic surgery. Her initial new look did bolster their relationship, but it wasn't long before Alec, once again, admitted to his growing interest in other women. With the fear of losing her husband, and the knowledge of his obsession with the large cats he housed on his African ranch, Jocelyne began the process of transforming her face to resemble that of a wild cat. Though her countless surgeries certainly helped her reach her cat-face aspirations, they, shockingly, did nothing to stop Alec from cheating. In the late ‘90s Jocelyne and two bodyguards walked in on Alec in bed with a 19-year-old Russian model and after he fell for another young, Russian model, he kicked Jocelyne to the curb.
The divorce proceedings, which lasted from 1997 to 1999, gained wide media coverage with both parties hurling insults across the court room: Jocelyne claimed she only altered her appearance to please her cat-gazing husband, while Alec contended that her ever-changing appearance had made him the victim of public ridicule. Jocelyne was given $2.5 billion upon the divorce settlement and $100 million each year for the next 13 years. The only stipulation, though, was that she couldn't use any of that money to fund further surgeries which, really, was probably for the better.
