Who

Sean Cassidy is the CEO of Dan Klores Communications, the New York PR firm founded by Dan Klores. Cassidy runs DKC's day-to-day affairs with Klores off focusing on his film career.

Backstory

Raised in Manhattan, Cassidy attended Tufts and after graduation moved back home, where he briefly contemplated a career as a paramedic. He joined a boutique PR firm instead and has been working at saving reputations, not lives, ever since. Two years after jumping into the PR fray, he followed a colleague to Dan Klores's firm; after moving up the ladder—and after Klores decided to spend more of his time pursuing his film career—Cassidy was promoted to president. In 2007, he was named CEO. Today, it's Cassidy who looks after the firm's 150 employees and $25 million in annual revenue while Klores serves as chairman.

Of note

DKC has long been an entertainment powerhouse—clients include Conan O'Brien, Jay Leno, and Diddy—but Cassidy has been more focused on bolstering DKC's corporate practice as of late. (Which isn't all that surprising since it's much more profitable than repping stars.) The company has signed up clients like Sprint, Sirius, GM, and Reuters over the past couple of years, and DKC has been also trying to bridge the two practices, connecting celebrities on the firm's roster with corporate clients interested in celeb endorsements. Other clients Cassidy works with include Jann Wenner's Us Weekly; Lorne Michaels's Broadway Video; Michael Eisner's investment firm, Tornante; Bruce Mosler's Cushman & Wakefield; Howard Lutnick's Cantor Fitzgerald; the Jim Dolan-controlled Rainbow Media; Delta Airlines; Robert F.X. Sillerman's media company, CKX; and Continuum Health Partners.

On the job

There have been several notable comings and goings at the firm in recent years. In 2006, publicist Rob Shuter was shown the door after it was revealed he'd been planting fictitious stories in the tabloids. On a more positive note, Klores lured political vet Bill Cunningham to the firm as a managing director in 2006. The former communications director for Mayor Bloomberg, Cunningham brings with him solid political ties. One other coup: the arrival of longtime Yankees PR chief Rick Cerrone the same year.

Personal

Cassidy lives with his wife Hilary in a 2,100-square-foot apartment on West End Avenue, which they bought for $2.12 million in 2009.
