Commander-in-chief Lindsey Graham is nearing a deal to close Guantanamo in exchange for just a little bit of our respect for the rule of law.

The so-called "Justice Department," an archaic old federal bureaucracy that is theoretically actually in charge of prosecuting Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, is not involved in the negotiations between Graham and his subordinates in the White House. But shit is getting serious:

Senate Democratic aides say Mr. Graham believes two other Republicans are willing to join the compromise, but they would not say who.

I am guessing that the two Republicans Mr. Graham believes he can win the support of are Senators Snuffleupagus and Harvey (pictured, with Graham).
