Al Pacino finally takes on a role that requires him to try and act for the first time in years, as opposed to him collecting seven-figure paychecks and sleepwalking through his roles. His career won't be euthanized after all.

This movie looks OK, I guess. But more importantly, it's a dramatic role that doesn't force Pacino to grow awful facial hair and act sleek in a paint by numbers movie with weird camera angles and blue filters all over the place. Here are Pacino's last four films:

·Righteous Kill
·Ocean's 13
·88 Minutes
·Two For the Money

Blech.

Playing Dr. Kevorkian is a role that requires research and thought, and not Pacino mumbling his way through another 'thriller'. Also, it has HBO's favorite new actor John Goodman. Can't go wrong with him.
