But seriously, though, does the census really need a hip hop image overhaul? And do such transparent attempts to "appeal to the younger demographic" still resonate anymore? This seems like something I would have seen on TV in the mid-90's, back when MC Hammer was doing PSAs warning kids not to smoke drugs. Maybe we are seeing the rise of stodgy government institutions finally embracing their hip hop edge. Hoping that means maybe we'll see some guest raps from Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar on the next Kanye West album.
