Three Reasons Why it Might Be Time to Put Barbara Walters in a Home
Barbara Walters is one of the hardest working women in show business, not to mention one of the oldest. And do you know what kind of toll the schedule she keeps has on a woman her age?! Take a look.
Now, we're not saying that all old women can't be active members of the Hollywood community. We watch The Golden Girls for crying out loud! But we also have eyes and ears and know a cry for help when we see one. Barbara, we know it's hard. When we sent Nana out to Shady Pines it wasn't pretty. But, trust us. We watch her every day, we know what the signs are, and we can't ignore them a second longer. Let's start with the canary in the mine:
1. She Curses at the Table, Will Make Your In-Laws Very Uncomfortable At Thanksgiving
When your elderly relatives begin speaking in a manor unbecoming of their age and stature-Babs, you've received several Emmys!-it's usually a clue that things aren't going swimmingly mentally. So, unless you've got a case of Tourette's we had no idea about, Barbara, this is a tell-tale sign if ever we've seen one.
2. Snowboarding and Other Modern Winter Sports Scare the Bejeezus Out of Her
Luckily for her the Winter Olympics are over-she clearly did not have the stamina for watching people do aerials in the snow. Those poor youngsters! Those flips! The fear of imminent death by ski jump is enough to melt the polydent in her mouth and rip the Depends right off her rumpus!
3. She Already Knows Its Coming
We have to hand it to Barbara, though. Sometimes she gets a little lucid and gives us a glimpse into her former glory. It's probably during one of these stable episodes that she decided to put an end to those Oscar specials she hates so damn much! During these times is also when she will defend anything that might get put out to pasture, even if that means defending a killer whale whose more than lives up to its moniker.
Shame that it's had to come to this. We've had a good run Barbara but we've talked it through and this is definitely for the best. Even your co-hosts agree! Right Joy?
