CONTEST: In Search of... the Craziest Amateur Invention
The world is full of good ideas, but it takes a special kind of person to bring a stroke of genius to life. One brilliant man discovered a water to gas conversion process used to power cars, blowtorches, and more.
For March's In Search of... challenge, we ask you, gentle readers, to find video footage of the wildest at-home inventions you can, to be judged alongside our pick. At the end of the month, the best submission will be featured on Gawker.TV, and, if it bests the water/gas power conversion system, the winner will receive a fantastic prize: an Aiptek PocketCinema v10.
This snazzy gadget can turn any wall into a videophile's wet dream: A huge viewing screen. Read Gizmodo's review here.
Submissions must not appear already on Gawker.TV. Factors such as innovation, practicality, and simplicity of design (Rube Goldbergs are awesome, but not that useful), as well as the video's age and page views will be considered in the judging process. Standard Gawker Media Contest Rules apply.
Leave your submissions in the comments below.
Good luck and happy hunting!
