In 1945, Salvador Dalí and Disney began collaborating on a project that would have been the surrealist's only animated film. With only 18 seconds finished by the original artists, the short was completed in 2003 from storyboards.

The influence of Dalí's batshit bonkers surreality is recognizable in his original 18-second segment, wherein two melting faces stilted atop tortoises glide toward a pearl and each other. The product of two extremely popular and influential artistic forces and nominated for a 2003 Best Animated Short Oscar, Destino has had its worldwide DVD release delayed repeatedly, now scheduled for 2010.
