Shaun White, who took home his second Olympic gold last night for an amazing half pipe performance, has been careful to publicly distance himself from the stoner stereotype of his sport, though his past interviews have left some wondering.

Whether or not he's high on-camera or on the powder doesn't actually matter, aside from the hypothetical resulting tut-tutting of sponsors à la Michael Phelps: the Olympic Committee has no official power to regulate marijuana use among its competitors. That power falls to the governing body of each sport individually—the Fédération internationale du ski in this case, which has no precedent of sanctioning smoking snowboarders. So Shaun can blaze-on, or continue as a responsible role-model, sports hero, and self-branded icon in the absence of any blazing whatsoever.
