The New Simpsons Character was Handled Perfectly
Last year The Simpsons managed to jump even farther over the shark by holding a contest to create a new Simpsons character. Well that character—Ricardo Bomba—debuted last night. And what the writers did with him was actually funny!
They promptly murdered him before he uttered his catchphrase. Thank goodness.
It's funny that The Simpsons actually did the exact same thing they made fun of many years ago when they added Poochie to the Itchy and Scratchy cartoons. I think it's safe to say that The Simpsons have been on long enough when they're pulling stunts that they made fun of over 10 years ago.
