We get lots of suggestions of what to post on Gawker every day. Let's take a look at what came in through the #tips page (and one unused email tip about Brad Pitt that showed up elsewhere).

  • DrChickenbeer: Ok, as stupid PR tricks, this press release was pretty good but we resisted posting it because, well, it's still a stupid press release. "Exclusive" online dating site BeautifulPeople.com booted 5,000 members because they reported getting too fat over the holidays.
  • boobookitteh (like the rest of the world) thinks it's noteworthy that NYC's health department has produced a guide for heroin users about how to avoid dying of an overdose, getting AIDS and hepatitis and get treatment for depression and addiction. Heroin is a horrible drug, but this wasn't posted because these all seem like sensible topics for a health department to pass on to drug users.
  • chickachicka also feels that the risks of quitting smoking with Chantix may not actually be worth the benefits of quitting smoking.
  • Uncle_Billy_Slumming thinks "The Gazprom Song" is well worth your time. I agree.
  • Earlier today we got an email to tips@gawker.com from someone who shall remain nameless: "The Post ran a picture of Brad and baby Shiloh at 'Mary Poppins' in this week's paper. I thought to myself 'wow they really butched up Shiloh — puffy down jacket and Burton ski cap.' Guess they thought the same thing b/c the caption calls her 'Brad's son Shiloh.' Poor little guy." Haha. But, you know, it's not like there are nevre typos at Gawker, so we passed. How about some other websites?
