Netflix Sunday Matinee: The Trojan War
Teen sex comedies about sexy teens that only want to have sex are Hollywood's way of turning TV stars into movie stars and The Trojan War is the best example of that concept failing spectacularly. It's the anti-Can't Hardly Wait.
Will Friedel (the Older Brother from Boy Meets World) is a dweeb that gets the chance to totally do it with his dream girl (Planet Terror's Marley Shelton) except he's totes out of rubbers! Will he get some in time? Will he realize his best friend (Jennifer Love Hewitt) is the one he really loves? High jinx, misunderstandings and slapstick ensues. (new graph) The Trojan War is a delightful romp that owes a whole lot to Scorsese's After Hours but probably does not know that. There are tons of recognizable faces like Max from A Goofy Movie, the Tough New Kid from Mighty Ducks 2, Danny Masterson and Eric Balfour (you'll know him when you see him) in this broad, ridiculous teen flick. Look out for a cameo by a teen movie legend, who has grown quite adept at playing a hilarious, raging psychopath, driving the bus from Speed. It sucks outside right now, let the warm SoCal vibes and bland 90s soundtrack wash over you.
