The 5 Worst Reality Shows That Actually Made It Onto Television
There are some reality shows so awful that you can't believe they are anything but figments of your imagination. From Celebrity Bull Riding to My Bare Lady, we wanted to make sure you never forget that these shows actually exist.
My Bare Lady (Fox Reality Channel)
Concept: Four insatiable porn stars compete to be dubbed "real actresses."
Execution: A far cry from the Sasha Grey/Girlfriend Experience route, these ladies fake orgasms to prove their talent, perform sexy dance routines and ultimately memorize Shakespeare all in hopes of landing the coveted role of Juliet in a West End production.
Ty Murray's Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge (CMT)
Concept: Pretty self explanatory. Professional bull rider Ty Murray, flanked by wife Jewel (yes, she sings on the show) watch a bunch of reality TV regulars get stomped on by bulls.
Execution: Absolutely brilliant. Stephen Baldwin
almost loses a testicle, Vanilla Ice offers inspirational words of encouragement, some other almost famous people you have never heard of get to experience a brief moment of Texan glory on an obscure cable channel.
The Search For The Next Elvira (Fox Reality Channel)
Concept: Horror show host Elvira is old. Her wig is getting gray, her boobs are saggy and she is searching for a little support. Enter an "Unlucky 13" all fighting or the position to be her successor.
Execution: The show is clearly staged by a bunch of bored LA executives and struggling Hollywood types who never knew they desperately wanted to be the next Elvira until their crappy back alley
agents suggested it.
Transamerican Love Story (Logo)
Concept: In generic dating show fashion eight special gentlemen vie
for the attention of one very special lady. The big twist being she used to be a man. Awkward! All of the male contestants used to be men as well, except for one, who used to be a woman. It's all very confusing.
Execution: The heart breaking about this show is
that it had potential. Calpernia Addams, the show's star, is genuinely likable. And the concept could be ground breaking, but the guys are so pathetic and the "luxury mansion" so obviously suburban that the whole thing is just depressing.
Space Cadets (Channel 4)
Concept: A British reality show where the producers convince mouth-breathing contestants that they will be going to space.
Execution: The absurdity of it all makes it phenomenal. They actually lock contestants into a fake space ship (a box), and hire actors to dress up like mad Russian scientists.
