• NBC is developing an American version of the British series Prime Suspect. Hank Steinberg of Without a Trace has been brought on to write the pilot episode. This is the second iconic detective franchise NBC has recently planned to remake, having announced plans to update The Rockford Files. [Hitfix]

• Hip hop dance trend Jerkin' is headed for the big screen. The team behind Next Day Air announced plans for a film based on the "positive message" craze, which is currently enjoying reknown with a hate song celebrating the dance entitled You're a Jerk. [THR]

• Guy Ritchie, whose career apparently can not be killed, will direct an adaptation of DC's alien bounty hunter comic Lobo for Warner Bros. The comics tell the tales of a seven foot tall, blue, motorcyclist. Entourage fans expressed shock that Lobo gets the green light while Vincent Chase's Aquaman still festers in development hell. • The Wrap has inside reports on restructuring madness at MGM, where the three-steps-to-solvency plan has left the staff "confused and terrorized." [The Wrap]

• Director Nick Cassavetes is suing New Line for fraud and breach of contract, after being fired from the film Peaceable Kingdom. The suit seeks to recover the lost wages for the projects Cassavetes passed on to do Kingdom. [Variety]
