Fox NY Reporter Hits Horse, Charged With Drunk Driving
WNYW reporter Mike Sheehan hosts a segment dedicated to unlocking unsolved crimes. So maybe he explain this one: How did his car collide with a police horse in SoHo Monday if he wasn't drunk?
His lawyer tells WCBS it's all very simple:
Defense lawyer Thomas Monaghan said the horse slammed into Sheehan's car, "not the other way around." He said the truth will vindicate Sheehan.
Sheehan, himself a former New York police detective and 25-year force veteran, has the inside knowledge needed to sell such a fantastic tale. He really needs to, since he refused a breathalyzer at the scene of the crime.
Luckily for Sheehan's career and public image, the horse does not need to be put down. So his rivals (to say nothing of Sheehan himself) can milk this incident for all the ratings it's worth without feeling too guilty. (Unless the horse is crippled, in which case all bets are off.)
