Curious about what friends or random Twitter people are saying about, say, 30 Rock or the State of the Union address or some obnoxious riot as its happening? Tired of hitting "reload" constantly?

As they say in the informercials, "There has to be a better way," and there is: TwitterFall, a website that constantly scrolls new "tweets" on topics or people of your choosing as they are posted. With an awesome swooshy animation for new items, which means this is the third coming of PointCast, but hopefully in good way.

Cynical Twitter haters will point out that random strangers on the microblogging service don't always provide "substantiated" or "remotely interesting" information about breaking news or television or cat petting or whatever. But sometimes speed wins and worse is better. After all, you can't quote back funny things you just heard to yourself.
