Everyone in Britain is enraged that a third runway is being built at London's busiest airport, Heathrow. This will kill all their precious red squirrels, or something! So a protester tossed a bit of custard at a politician.

29-year-old Leila Deen politely greeted Business Secretary Lord Mandelson as he exited a limo, and then she threw some green custard at him. She explained that she was a bit miffed at that whole airport thing, and then she went on her way, to work or something. And now Lord Mandelson and Prime Minister Gordon Brown keep making all these cheeky jokes about it.

"I suppose in a democracy people are entitled to have their say but I would rather people said it to my face rather than throw it," he joked.

He added: "I am prepared to take my fair share of the green revolution on my shoulders but I am less keen on having it in my face."

Prime Minister Gordon Brown sought to make light of the incident, saying it demonstrated the "greening" of his business secretary.

"If anyone doubted Peter Mandelson's willingness to take the green agenda on his shoulders we have seen it in practice on our television screens this morning," he said.

See? It's all just a bit of fun. No one got hurt! The protester got to throw a bit of traditional British dessert, the Business Secretary got to crack a little joke, and now they'll just go build that little runway, what ho. And Ms. Deen had one well-defined and reasonable cause, chose a nicely symbolic target and weapon, and walked away unscathed. Both the NYU protesters and terrorists could learn a little something!
