Fox News Picks Juvenile Fight Via Asterisk
Fox News added an asterisk to this advertisement only to responsibly admit that its competitors have tiny penises:
The above disclaimer was attached to Fox News Channel advertisements (see bottom image) in national and trade publications this week, TV Newser reports.
Running insane, barely-coherent attack ads against competitors is a tried and true tactic for Fox News. Along with the network's vicious PR department, the ads help drum up loads of free publicity for the network while promoting its mavericky, no-BS self image.
But we're pretty sure Fox has ever used quite this many, well, words to slam the competition. "Pathetic," "tiny," "little," "stumbled" — at this rate Fox might as well launch a dedicated attack blog and call it a day. Given the cost of desperate writers these days, it would probably be cheaper than the ad.
