What's Obama Eating?
On the menu for the traditional post-inauguration luncheon hosted by Congress: "seafood, pheasant, duck, and apple-cinnamon sponge cake," a menu inspired by Lincoln, served on a "replica of the Lincoln china," according to this clip.
The menu, which is the most popular page on the Senate's inaugural website, is a vast improvement over that served for President Eisenhower 56 years ago: "creamed chicken, baked ham, and potato puffs," according to Senator Dianne Feinstein in her speech welcoming Obama to the Capitol.
Yes, but will President Obama actually eat any of it? He was famous for his abstemiousness on the campaign trail, taking pancakes to go rather than eating them in public. We bet he has two bites of each course, max.
