After another interminable wait, 30 Rock returns, giving you something new to talk to your co-workers about now that the "How was your New Year's?" topic has run its course.

WATCH

30 Rock [9:30 PM, NBC] - Ah, 30 Rock, blindsiding society's bugaboos with rib-crushing comedy tackles. Tonight, we find Liz falling (stooping?) for new guy Peter Dinklage and Salma Hayek joins the cast as the new nurse for Jack's (Alec Baldwin) mother. In the blatant comic relief plotline, Jenna (Jane Krakowski) auditions for a Janis Joplin biopic. Recommending 30 Rock is like telling people your favorite film is The Bridge on the River Kwai. Everyone knows it's a piece of art, though not that many people watch it regularly.

Kath & Kim [8:30 PM, NBC] - Upon rewatching every episode from this season last weekend, we like this show again. Something about the pop culture references, malapropisms ("kindled spirits") and John Michael Higgins makes this show go down like a bottle of Jarritos Mandarin. Sometimes it hurts your teeth, but it's so sweet. Kath (Molly Shannon) helps Kim (Selma Blair) pursue her dream career as a local news anchorwoman. Meanwhile, Craig (Mikey Day) hits Phil's (Higgins) beloved car.

The Bielski Brothers: Jerusalem In The Woods [11 PM, History] - There are many truths about cable programming, one of which is that channels will always air shows that relate to the current cinema offerings. While Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber emote up the silver screen in Defiance, director Dean Ward gives us this look at the often glossed-over Bielski brothers who created a community in the woods to protect threatened Jews and often went on the offensive against the Nazi forces. Learn something tonight, we dare you.

12 Sexiest Vegas Jobs [9 PM, E!] & 21 Sinful Vegas Hot Spots [11 PM, Travel] - List shows are always easy to produce: Hire Marc Summers or a voice-over actor, have a small crew shoot a bunch of B-roll and interview some good-looking PR people, throw it in the Avid, shake, repeat. We aren't the biggest Vegas people, but we'll give these a quick scan, if just to see if snapping escort service cards on the Strip makes the first list. In truth, the more interesting shows would be the inverse of these programs: 12 Dowdiest Vegas Jobs & 21 Wholesome Vegas Hot Spots. The M&M's store would probably fall into both categories.

Greg Behrendt's Wake-Up Call [10 PM, SOAPnet] - Branding. Once a practiced restricted to cattle and certain sects of Hinduism, branding has now come to mean: spread your unique contribution to society as thinly as possible. Greg Behrendt, known for co-penning He's Just Not That Into You and for his failed talk show that name-checked that book a few times an epi, gives couples relationship advice and then they decide whether to stay together or break up. We think Behrendt is much better when he's doing stand-up, not playing matchmaker/matchbreaker. Also, for those of you emerging from caves today, the movie based on his book comes out in February. Remember what we said about cable programming relating to current cinema?
