Here is one of those "evergreen" stories that you can run anytime, when things are good or when things are miserable (or on the weekend!): those jokers in congress just gave themselves a raise.

So let's all get outraged! No on has jobs anymore, let alone raises. Where do these jokers get off, giving themselves raises?

Well you know what? If we could give ourselves raises just by voting for raises, let's not kid ourselves, we would all be fucking millionaires. And those jokers in congress still actually don't make as much as the assholes who are their true constituency, the millionaires.

“As lawmakers make a big show of forcing auto executives to accept just $1 a year in salary, they are quietly raiding the vault for their own personal gain,” said Daniel O’Connell, chairman of The Senior Citizens League (TSCL), a non-partisan group. “This money would be much better spent helping the millions of seniors who are living below the poverty line and struggling to keep their heat on this winter.”

Oh, boo hoo. It is all imaginary deflationary Treasury Monopoly Money anyway! Congresspeople will now make like $190k/year, which is certainly much more than we make, and obviously they are all OUT OF TOUCH with how the other half, the half that is 90% of the population lives, but you know what? Give them all a zillion of our worthless dollars, and then perhaps they will stop needing to fundraise all the time, and they will be marginally less evil. Or not, whatevs.
