Earlier this week, Condé Nast announced that it had hired McKinsey & Co. to help it "rethink" how it does business and "develop new perspectives on optimizing our approach to business [and] growing revenues." Is it a coincidence that Condé's parent company filed a lawsuit against the British West Indies today?

Unfortunately, a digital copy of the suit hasn't been filed with the New York Southern District Court yet, so we can't say why Si Newhouse is now training his legal firepower on a group of sub-tropical islands, or what he's hoping to gain extract from our neighbors to the south. (The summary filing does indicate that Condé's suit involves a breach of contract of some sort.)

In the meantime, we're going to go ahead and assume that Newhouse's vacation to Turks and Caicos this Christmas is totally not happening now.
