Ralph Lauren's Less Than Notorious Life
Ralph Lauren's has released a new perfume called "Notorious." And just the name alone has Chandler Burr, the New York Times's resident "scent expert," up in arms. From his latest column:
"There is probably no designer in history less notorious than Ralph Lauren. He is the Martha Stewart of fashion (minus the jail time). In fact, the only notorious thing about him has always been that his name used to be Lifshitz. Had they introduced Notorious with an Internet clip of a homemade porn video of him and his wife, Ricky, maybe. But by today's Paris Hilton standards of notoriety, Lifshitz doesn't cut it."
