These are difficult times for the LeRoy clan, the family that controls Tavern on the Green in Central Park. The 20-year lease on the fabled restaurant expires at the end of the year and Jennifer Oz LeRoy, the daughter of the late restaurant impresario Warner LeRoy, has been fighting to hold on to the venue. (More than 100 other parties have expressed interest in taking over the lease, although several of the biggest names—such as Danny Meyer—have since dropped out.) Now the LeRoy family has another headache to contend with.

Two months after getting hit with a suit for not paying their meat bill comes a new lawsuit over an outstanding bill for a Tavern on the Green cookbook. Jennifer and her mother Kay LeRoy signed a deal with Workman Publishing in 2006 to produce a book entitled Tavern on the Green Special Occasions Cookbook. The LeRoys agreed to purchase 5,000 copies as part of the agreement, and Workman delivered the books last November. But the LeRoys never paid the $72,000 bill for the books, which is why Workman filed suit against the restaurant last week. You can peruse the suit for yourself below.
