Katy Tur, the 25-year-old girlfriend of Keith Olbermann, has a new job! She's now "chasing tornadoes as part of The Weather Channel's Vortex2 team." (You can see a clip of her doing just that here.) When Tur landed her last TV reporting gig in 2008—her first in the industry despite precious little experience—it was rumored that the MSNBC host had helped her land the job.

Given Keith's employer, NBC, owns The Weather Channel, questions about Olbermann's role in the hiring are surfacing once again. Although, once again, Olbermann is denying the suggestion he had anything to do with it:

Anybody who suggests so is misinformed, and/or sadly unaware that in this time when the industry is collapsing around us, nobody gets a job based on 'influence,' only talent.

We were actually thinking it was the other way around, but whatever.
