Your Hair Is Golden

Desperate to make a quick buck? Unwilling to take the clichéd route of offering up your natural assets to the highest bidder as a high-priced escort? Provided you're not put off by the prospect of looking like Rachel Maddow for the next six months or so, a company called The Hair Trader, which bills itself as "the worlds (sic) largest independent hair sale site," is promising to turn of your other assets—your hair!—into a virtual ATM machine.
The Hair Trader connects people with long hair to people who are seeking to buy long hair, although left unsaid is who exactly is in the market to buy shorn locks, except for the usual suspects like wig manufacturers and really lazy serial killers who can't be bothered to go out and procure their strands the old-fashioned way. (And wig makers stock up on their supplies by taking advantage of impoverished peasants in India and China, so that leaves us with slothful murderers.)
The site claims people who offer up their locks via the Ebay-like marketplace can make up to $2,500 by slicing off their ponytails, which is pretty impressive considering some of the people using the service. (See here, here, and here.) Of course, if those guys can make that kind of cash, your locks—split ends and all—should make you a fortune!
