Whitney Port Keeps Calm On Brink of Superstardom
The week between Christmas and New Year's, that fallow time when nothing much happens, will this year sparkle with a cultural event certain to unite us all. Yes, December 29th is the launch of MTV's The City, Whitney Port's Hills spinoff in which she works at Diane von Furstenberg, hangs out with Olivia Palermo, and dates some fame-hungry singer dude whose Australian accent may or may not be interfering with everyone's gaydar.
Page Six mag gets together with the young Californian—who's come so far from when she first arrived at Teen Vogue in an outfit cruelly condemned as "matchy matchy" by a fashion Nazi staffer—and finds that she's as level-headed as those pivotal intern closet confabs with L.C. always indicated. On the prospect of the negativity that may come with new levels of fame, Whitney reflects: "I figure if I just stay true to myself and I am the Whitney that I've always been, people will look at me not as Whitney from the show, but as a human being." We'll always see you as that, Whitney, we promise.
