You know how the people who say that money can't buy happiness are invariably rich, but like to pretend their inner serenity is due to intelligence and wisdom rather than multiple sumptuous residences, expensive cars and fabulous vacations? Well, some Wharton economists are calling bullshit: Spending money is definitely connected to well-being, according to their research, but less so as you get old. In other words, splash out while you can and don't be so obsessed with pension plans and 401Ks. And in the meantime we eagerly await the research study proving that money can in fact buy love.
