Sexual Harassment 'Victim' Not So Victimized

What good is an executive assistant if she won't organize your porn collection or lend an ear when you need someone to listen to the stories of your sexual exploits? Fatima Monahan, the onetime secretary to finance heavyweight Frederick Iseman, made this the basis of a $24 million sexual harassment suit against the Caxton-Iseman chairman last April. The private equity mogul's response? He said no hanky panky had taken place and she was paid $125,000 a year to "schedule personal and professional appointments, run errands and prepare checks for personal bills"?
Well, as it turns out, Iseman was paying her a bit more than even he imagined. Monahan had spent more than $45,000 on clothes, shoes, and bed linens, which she charged to his credit card without his knowledge. (She also took joyrides in his Mercedes.) Yesterday, the former assistant pleaded guilty to theft and now faces a possible sentence of five years of probation. In the meantime, Iseman's lawyers are insisting that the sexual harassment suit was simply a ploy to draw attention away from Monahan's penchant for playing Supermarket Sweep on her boss's dime. Fatima now says she "simply wants to put this behind her and go on with her life." With a rich imagination like that—and assuming she can keep her nose clean—we have no doubt some mogul will find work for her.
