The out-of-control crowd wasn't the only snafu at last week's Sex and the City premiere. It turns out that the silver pleated Nina Ricci dress that Sarah Jessica Parker wore down the red carpet had been worn before—by Lauren Santo Domingo.

The social fixture Santo Domingo (née Lauren Davis) wore the dress to the Costume Institute gala in May; she was accompanied to the event by Ricci designer Olivier Theyskens. And yet both Theyskens and Mario Grauso, the president of Puig, the company that owns Ricci, never mentioned that fact to Parker and her reps when they asked if the dress had been worn before. (They did admit it had been worn for magazine shoots, which explains why pictures of Lindsay Lohan wearing the dress in an ad didn't generate as much controversy.) The normally reserved Parker made her annoyance perfectly clear to the Times: "Look, my affection for the dress hasn't changed... but what they did was so short-sighted. It's just unethical and disappointing that they would allow the dress to be worn again." We're guessing the fact that she has the number one movie in the country right now should make her feel a bit better.
