The lawyer for Courtney Holt, the 19-year-old who was brutally hazed by the mean girls of Phi Epsilon at Long Island's Hofstra University, has written us a letter. Just so everyone knows, he is "the Attorney for one of the bravest individuals I have ever met." That might be true, since Phi Epsilon has been rumored to brand their girls with a three-pronged fork! "Prior to practicing law I was a New York City Firefighter and as such do not use the accolade brave lightly." Not only did sorority girls beat on her, but the school tried to cover up the incident, he says:

To whom it may concern,

My name is Peter Gleason and I am the Attorney for one of the bravest individuals I have ever met, Ms. Courtney Holt. Prior to practicing law I was a New York City Firefighter and as such do not use the accolade brave lightly. The treachery, including death threats, Ms. Holt endured after she notified the academic Dean, Peter Libman, is a classic example of a bumbling educational bureaucrat looking to sweep campus crime under the rug. Instead of walking away in shame all 5 foot 1 inch of Ms. Holt stood proud and faced the draconian coverup by campus officials.

I write to you now as I know there are other young women who have been victimized at Hofstra and if you would be so kind as to share with them my contact information, (or perhaps post my contact information) so that I may discuss this matter directly with them.

As an aside, this is the same Hofstra University that is scheduled to hold a Presidential debate in October 2008. This is not the place such an important event should be held.

Very Truly Yours,
Peter Gleason
