Cheerleader's mom blames YouTube, MySpace for her daughter's beating

Police say six teenagers trapped 16-year-old Victoria Lindsay in a house and then beat her until she lost consciousness. Their evidence? Video, which authorities say the girls planned to upload to MySpace and YouTube. Lindsay's mother told Good Morning America she in part blames the site for the attacks. "I don't understand it" Lindsay says in the clip above. "I don't understand how our society has gotten through peer pressure to our kids that's its OK to act in violence and then want to post it on MySpace or YouTube or anywhere else, just for entertainment and a laugh." Ah, whimpering and weeping, the stuff of pure ROFLMAO.

sounds like a very common thing this "trash talk" i know a lot of kids that got beat up for it. i guess the only way you can really blame youtube and myspace is by saying that dumb asses like that victoria chick that got her ass beat dont know when to shut their mouths, and think that the internet is some sort of safe zone for talking about people. so much for being an internet bully. maybe she will learn not to say things that will get her beat up. i just dont see how stupid you could be to walk into a house with the people you slander and think nothing will happen.

Maybe if the mother had been more involved in her daughters life and talked to her about how she is feeling, she may have heard about the online smack talk before it got outta hand, she should thank the internet for putting the idea of making a video of the crime to post, that is far better than any testimony in court. Suprised she did not blame Al Gore for creating the internet and letting this happen.

I think the only crime here is that I just paid $19.95 for some stupid website when I could just gotten the hot girl on girl fighting action that I like for free on YouTube.

1. These kinds of beatings occurred during my HS years (1986-89), but the cro-mags doing the beatings just didn't have the video cameras.

2. The mother of the girl whose house the beatdown occurred actually was stupid enough to go on the TODAY SHOW. And subsequently was made into an uber-stupid parent on national TV.
