Yahoo cuts come just before bonus time
As Yahoo lays off hundreds, possibly thousands, of employees, our commenters are filling us in on the details. Commenter Winston Smith writes that laid-off employees are getting two months' severance, not the usual three months Yahoo has previously offered. (Other commenters disagree, reporting three-month packages.) The unfortunate will also not be getting their 2007 bonus. Commenter supernoob offers this anecdote:
A contact in [Santa Monica] seemingly got the ax today, he went from "BRB, Meeting" to logged off, to "Looking for a career" on LinkedIn.
