· I saw Ryan Gosling at Café 101 on Sunday night. He had a big beard and was really low-key. Everyone there seemed to know him. The waitress talked to him for like 15 minutes. So yeah. It wasn't that exciting but hey, it's still a good sighting right???? Ha.
· I would swear that I saw Will Ferrell today (August 9) at the Burbank Costco, standing in line at the pharmacy. He had a strange blowout, but the face....I'm too big a fan to believe it wasn't him.
· Was at The Grove Saturday evening (8/11) and took my young daughter to check out the band playing, since kids are usually dancing and having fun. A cute little boy was dancing and playing along with the band on his toy guitar, and his dad, who was PAUL RUDD, was playing another toy guitar and jamming with him. His wife was there too, laughing at the two of them having fun. Rudd the elder even shared his toy guitar with other kids. I just love that guy.
· Hey there, Just wanted to let you know that last night Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were out with the common folk last night at a small theater in Hollywood. They saw a 99 seat theater production of a play called "The Idiot Box" at the Open Fist Theater on Santa Monica Blvd. They were super friendly and looked very happy to be out sans baby. So there you have it.
· Wednesday, August 8, 2007 — 7pm. Spotted Christopher Guest and Jamie Lee Curtis ambling down Little Santa Monica near Roxbury. Great looking couple.
Sunday, August 12, 2007 - 9pm. Seth Rogen and group outside the Cold Stone Creamery at the Beverly Connection. Can't mistake those curls! Seth was with a few guys and a couple of girls; all the guys seemed gay. Seth was more subdued than I would have expected.
· Last Friday (8/10), my friends spotted Ron Livingston at the Dome's 8:30 screening of the new Bourne flick. He was milling around in the lobby after the show, and everyone in my pack managed to get glimpse of America's first official office cutie (sorry, John Krasinski) ... everyone, of course, but me, damnit.
· Then on Saturday (8/11) around 10 PM, I had a very pleasant run-in with Taye Diggs. We were heading up Cherokee when my boyfriend and I got tangled up in a group of people waiting at the valet station outside Geisha House, and I ended up walking directly behind a man dressed in a sleek black suit and black fedora—surprised he didn't go for the spats. When he turned around to say something to his friend, the handsome Mr. Diggs came face-to face with me instead, gave a me quick quizzical look, then smiled and informed me, "Hey—you're not my friend," to which I responded, "Uh, no, I'm not not!" He then very politely stepped aside so I could reconnect with my man. Dude was the very definition of dapper.
· Saw Christian Slater on Wednesday (8/8) as he walked out of the bathroom after the 4:55 Bourne Ultimatum screening at the AMC Century City. It was kind of weird— he sort of stood in the middle of the waiting area and looked around a lot. He put his sunglasses on after he felt he had been spotted by a sufficient number of people.
· Thursday night, David Thewlis scowled at me, really quite meanly and for no apparent reason, as he bustled through the Chateau Marmont.
· Aug. 13: Mena Suvari going into the elevator of a building near 3rd and La Cienega... rocking the shaved head and a bikini top. She confuses me...
· Aug. 13: Adrian Grenier having a leisurely brunch at Urth Cafe on Melrose 11:30am. He and two other dudes talking shop.
Scott Caan at BLD Restaurant on Beverly two days in a row, yesterday and today. He was lunching with a friend and a baby yesterday and today with a different friend.
Incidentally, Justin Bartha was also at BLD yesterday afternoon with about 4 other guys.
· Sunday 8/5 — Patiently listening to his iPod while waiting among the hoi-polloi at the gate for a fog-delayed flight to San Francisco was Eddie Izzard. He did that "yes, I notice you recognizing me, but I am being low-key" eye-lowering thing when I smiled real cheesily at him, so I decided he didn't want me to tell him "Cake or Death" is my favorite phrase ever. Eddie had absolutely no star attitude about waiting in line to board and then sitting in coach for the flight; this is why I love the British.
· Hi - no Bowser sightings this week (but am hitting the Nabe more regularly and will get an autograph for Mr. Lisanti if it kills me...) but we did see Pasadena resident Bradley Whitford, looking sharp and relaxed, in the Colorado Blvd. Apple Store on the 7th. And then, just down the street, George Hickenlooper (director of Don Novello-starring "Factory Girl") leaving "Bourne" at Paseo Colorado on Thursday night (9th). Who says Pasadena doesn't rock?
· Saw Chad Lowe at Swingers on Lincoln late last night (8-9). Not much to say. He was alone at the counter, wearing a baseball cap. Eating a sandwich.
· Tuesday 8/14: Studio City Pinkberry. The Paparazzi were swarming the window to get a shot of Hollywood's new Hot and Heavy twosome...The "Hot" being Jennifer Aniston's Rebound hunk Paul Sculfor and the "Heavy" was Mike Tyson (a little too much pinkberry lately?), sitting at a table together with two women. Random.
· Monday, Aug 13 - Dodgers versus Astros game (Dodgers lost big time). Celeb stalkers had a poor choice from the fame buffet - an underappreciated Stephen Baldwin, of Celebrity Mole Hawaii fame, wearing a straw Panama hat and no sunglasses, yet still did not appear to be recognized by many (poor superfluous Baldwin). That left Larry King as the "big" celeb of the night. He was wearing a blue and white striped button down shirt and looked rather animatronic. His head is way too big for his body, and I think if you cut the skin on his arms there would be exposed wires. Creepy. Yet, fans kept asking him to pose for photos and/or sign their Dodger hats (to what end, I have no idea).
· Oh well, here you go. Just ran into beautiful couple Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart at Poquito Mas up on Sunset in West Hollywood. They ordered some food to go and waited a while inside at a table, then came outside to smoke. They were both smoking... Eric Dane was smoking hot as well, in a grey cashmere hoodie and black karate pants. Gayheart looked great with hair pulled in a bun, wearing a long ribbed greyish sweater-coat and carrying a cool gold leather satchel. They got their food and sped away in their black GMC Yukon. I considered following them to see where they live...but no.
· Sunday, 08-05 I was getting my hair cut in the hippest barbershop in LA, Rudy's in Silverlake. If you get there early enough the wait is never that bad and a few people cut hair well. I had just finished watching the DVD UK version of the Office for the Nth time the night before. I looked in the mirror while being styled and Gareth's googly eyed friend who showed up at the Office on that strange holiday that is about dressing up and charity walked into Rudy's, i.e., Stephen Merchant, one of the writer's for the UK (and US) Office. I didn't think it was him since he was so far from England but my hunch was confirmed when he was called for a haircut as Steve. I left Rudy's with the smug feeling that I would win the most obscure celebrity sighting of the week that few would care about.
· saturday 08/04 at the arclight... big lug and tv authority-figure-of-color chi mcbride (the nine, boston public) crossing the lobby in what looked like an iron maiden t-shirt. appeared to be headed to that cafe...
· Larry Birkhead: Good old Mr. Anna Nicole is in a Century City law office today (8-14). Looking very sincere and stately in his suit.
· August 11, 2007 While watching my fiance load groceries into the car at the Westwood Ralphs, my attention was ripped from the task at hand and onto a rather orange-tan man in a bright neon orange shirt. What emboldened blazer would do such a thing?! It was Robert Rey of Dr. 90210!!! This was confirmed by his signature chokers and that odd bleached spot in the front of his 90's mushroom cut hair. He got into a brand new black Porsche with "ju-jitsu" bumper stickers and a "Harvard Alumni" license plate holder (I'm going to have to look into that one, college boy). Alas...my C-list contribution to Privacywatch.
· At about 10:45pm this evening (August 8), I was driving south on Hillhurst, right next to Angelyne and her nail-polish-pink Corvette. She had this weird flower thing in her hair, and her face is pretty frightening. She had a youngish looking male in the passenger seat. She turned west on Sunset boulevard, and ceased to care. Really, does Angelyne even COUNT anymore?
· August 10: i know reality tv stars are a dime a dozen and are not really celebrities, but i saw nutty project runway contestant vincent libretti nuttily riding his nutty bike on 21st in santa monica. he looked nuttily in our direction and nuttily was not wearing a helmet. my point is, the man is nuts.
· This hardly counts as a celebrity sighting, however I saw Mike "The Miz" Mizanin of Real World "fame" (who apparently wrestles for the WWE, I found out when looking up his last name) at the Chipotle at the Grove on Saturday, 8/11. The only reason I'm even submitting this is the fact that I sort of noticed him upon entering (yes, I used to watch all the Real World/Road Rules Challenges...sad) but when I glanced up again to confirm, I was met with eye contact and raised eyebrows in a sort of "ooh, ooh, are you noticing me, do you recognize me" excited kind of look. It was quite amusing in a sad sort of way.
· August 11: Im at a friends party at skybar now and the king of greasiness is here... brandon davis...hes walking around in a stupor wearing a hoody w the hood up trying to hide a gnarly black eye
Special A-List Actress In Hawaii Edition:
· Last Wednesday, 8/8, at Kahului airport in Maui, Hawaii, I waited in the security check line next to Cameron Diaz, traveling by herself and made conspicuous by all her Vuitton luggage. The best part: our nation's ever-efficient TSA officials required that she remove her fame-concealing hat before walking through the metal detector, revealing a bird's nest of damaged, ratty hair. Surely Cam can afford a VO5 hot oil treatment?
