The Lafayette House Hotel: There Goes the Neighborhood
The Lafayette House Hotel recently opened in the building right next to the B Bar, on East 4th Street. For those with lucid memories, that's the same building that, back when it was an unconverted residential property, boasted a sign in the window saying "NYU Ruined the Neighborhood." Man, that Cassandra complex is a bitch. The hotel, as Hotel Chatter notes, is by the same dudes (Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode) who are responsible for the similarly Victorian Bowery Hotel. The 14-15 rooms at the hotel go for $350, though a rate change is supposedly in the works. As for the video, we have Hotel Chatter's exclusive to thank for that. But you have us to thank for the Hall and Oates.
